Buoyed by a 24-rebound advantage on the glass and 17 assists from Jose Calderon, the Toronto Raptors avenged their early season loss to the Wizards on Friday night.
The Washington Wizards trail the Toronto Raptors 55-45 after one half at the Air Canada Centre. Washington has been dominated in the paint, as the Raptors have attacked the lane and scored 36 points down low. The Raptors were coming off a blowout loss to the Celtics, and looking to avenge their loss to the Wizards. But Washington has not been able to find the bottom of the bucket, as they're shooting just 34 percent from the floor through the first 24 minutes.
John Wall leads Washington starters with nine points, while grabbing four boards and dishing four assists against the Raptors' tough-nosed Jose Calderon. Jordan Crawford came off the bench to chip in with 11 points, quickly getting ten shots up in 15 minutes on the floor for Randy Wittman. But the Wizards' continue to have issues in the paint, as Toronto already has 15 offensive rebounds to go along with their ample points at the rim. The Wizards will look to challenge at the bucket in the second half to improve to 2-0 against Toronto this season

The Washington Wizards travel North across the border to take on the Toronto Raptors, a team that has struggled mightily over the past few games. The game starts at 7 and can be seen on CSN.
The Raptors have lost by a combined score of 200-141 over two games against the Hawks and the Celtics. The Wizards aren't as good as either of those teams, but the Raptors haven't shown much fight without Andrea Bargnani, so maybe the Wizards can get a win on effort alone. Both of these teams rank in the bottom-five in points per game, so don't don't expect a barn-burner.

Wizards Vs. Raptors Recap: Toronto Pulls Away For 106-89 Win Over Washington
The Washington Wizards got their first win of the season this year against the Toronto Raptors, a 15-point victory in early January. On Friday night, the Raptors evened the season series with a 106-89 win at Air Canada Centre. Toronto pulled away in the second half for the double digit win, shooting 45 percent from the floor and out-rebounding Washington by a mammoth 24-rebound margin.
After a relatively quiet first half, Nick Young led all Washington scorers with 21 points on seven of 17 from the floor. John Wall added 15 for Washington, but the Wizards once again shot below 40 percent from the field to drop their third in a row. Amir Johnson led Toronto inside with 18 points, and bolstered a strong attack down low that led to consistent points in the paint for the Raptors and that dramatic advantage on the glass. Washington got within one in the third period but Linas Kleiza led a Toronto run that pushed the lead back to double digits.
Washington has little time to recover, as Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers visit Verizon Center on Saturday evening.
