Can the Wizards defense show up against the Detroit Pistons on Monday night?

The Washington Wizards have let two recent games with big leads get away from them. 16 points in their loss to Atlanta on Saturday and 22 in their loss last Thursday to Indiana before getting beat by the Celtics on Sunday, 88-76. Despite that, ever since the Wizards made the trade for Nene, the have appeared to be a much more competitive team. Monday night the Wizards play the Detroit Pistons and hope that they can get at least one win in these three consecutive games.

The Wizards will need to do something on defense in this game, having allowed a 48.7 shooting percentage against Atlanta and a 48.6 shooting percentage against Boston. If the Wizards can replicate how well they played on defense against Detroit, holding the Pistons to 32.6 shooting percentage in a 98-77 victory on Feb. 12, they should be able to play stronger with Nene and John Wall leading the way.

The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip off from the Verizon Center. Television coverage will be provided by Comcast Sports Network.
