Wizards Draft Rumors: Harrison Barnes Works Out In Washington

The Washington Wizards had three players in town on Tuesday for a pre-draft workout. Forwards Kris Joseph of Syracuse and John Shurna of Northwestern joined potential top-six pick Harrison Barnes of North Carolina at the team facility on Tuesday. Barnes is a player to keep an eye on in the lead up to the draft, as his name has recently been mentioned as an outside possibility for Washington's third pick in the draft.

Media was not allowed to watch the workout, but Barnes talked to the press after the workout. He told the Washington Post that landing with the Wizards would be a good opportunity, especially for the chance to play alongside John Wall:

"I feel like I'd fit right in," Barnes said. "Obviously you've got John [Wall], who's a good playmaker. Extremely quick. He can get guys open shots. Then with the addition of Nene, I think that helped this team mature a lot. I feel like I'd fit in nicely and help their perimeter scoring."

Washington could use a shooter like Barnes. Conventional wisdom is still linking them to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with the third pick.
