The Washington Wizards hired Don Newman as an assistant coach on Monday.
The Washington Wizards announced on Monday that Don Newman will join Randy Wittman's coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Newman spent the last seven seasons as an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs. During his time in San Antonio, the team won two NBA titles along with five Division titles. He got his start in the NBA in 1999 with the Milwaukee Bucks. All together, Newman has more than two decades of coaching experience.
"Don is an outstanding coach and a great addition to our staff," said Wizards Head Coach Randy Wittman. "He brings championship experience from his time with the Spurs and has been very successful in every stop of his career."
