Earl Barron, Steven Gray, and Shavlik Randolph all received non-guaranteed contracts and invitations to the Wizards training camp.
The Washington Wizards have invited Earl Barron, Shavlik Randolph, and Steven Gray to training camp on non-guaranteed contracts, according to Michael Lee of The Washington Post. The Wizards begin camp in less than three weeks and currently have an open 15th spot on their roster.
Barron has the most NBA experience of the three, bouncing around the league as a veteran seven-foot center. He played in just two games last year with the Golden State Warriors. If he were to make the team, it's highly unlikely he would be a rotation guy for Randy Wittman, serving more as end-of-the-bench depth behind Nene, Kevin Seraphin, Emeka Okafor, Jan Vesely, and Trevor Booker.
Randolph, a former Duke forward, has five years of experience but did not play in the league the last two seasons. Both he and Gray were on the Wizards Summer League roster. Gray is a bigger point guard who was known for his athleticism at Gonzaga. He played overseas in Europe last season.
