The University of Maryland has issued a report stating that offensive lineman Pete DeSouza was involved in an accident last night, according to Patrick Stevens from D1Scourse.
DeSouza, a redshirt freshman who has been playing right tackle for the team, was driving a motorized scooter when a car collided with him around 9 p.m. last night. According to Eric Prisbell of the Washington Post, DeSouza suffered injuries to the "lower extremities," and was taken to a hospital overnight. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Via Stevens, here's the Maryland report.
"DeSouza was operating a motor scooter traveling westbound on Campus Drive when a motorist turned left in front of DeSouza. DeSouza's scooter collided with the vehicle causing DeSouza to go down."
Prisbell reports that the exchange took place between the student union and Cole Field House.
