Maine Vs. Maryland: Terps Have Final Tune-up Before Pittsburgh Game

It would be very easy for Maryland to look ahead to their next game: a showdown against No. 5 Pittsburgh in the semifinals of the Coaches Vs. Cancer Classic on Thursday. But before that game, they have a gimmie game at home against Maine. Action gets underway at 2 p.m. at Comcast Center.

A gimmie game might be too generous to Maryland, actually. Maine is a decent team, as they return four starters from a team that won 19 games last year, including a win over Boston College. They are a balanced team, led by guard Gerald McLemore, who averaged over 14 a game last year. However, they didn't look very good in their first game, a 71-66 overtime victory over lowly Utah Valley.

Maryland does tend to slip up at home against inferior competition, so there is obviously a small degree of concern. However, this should be an easy game for them. Key word, should.
