Tonight's matchup between the Washington Wizards and the Toronto Raptors didn't exactly have a ton of buzz coming in. Now, it has even less buzz. As we noted earlier in the day, John Wall will not play for Washington due to a sprained left foot.
Wall was on crutches Monday, and the Wizards decided it wasn't worth having him play through the pain. In his place, Gilbert Arenas will get the start. Could this be a blast from the past for Wizards fans? That's one reason to watch, I guess.
The Raptors are 2-8 on the year, having suffered some close losses this season. They are just 1-4 in games decided by five points or less this year. Clearly, this is a bad team without Chris Bosh, but at least they have been competitive. They will likely start Jose Calderon, DeMar DeRozan, Linas Kleiza, Reggie Evans and Andrea Bargnani.
The Wizards will likely counter with Arenas, Kirk Hinrich, Al Thornton, Andray Blatche and JaVale McGee. Yi Jianlian will also miss the game with his own knee injury.
