The Washington Redskins are expected to promote wide receiver Terrence Austin from the practice squad, according to a report from John Keim of the Washington Examiner
The move is not surprising, as the Redskins have been looking for a spark from the receiving corps in recent weeks. The coaching staff admittedly was not pleased with Joey Galloway's effort in the last few games, and as a result his playing time has decreased. Roydell Williams has added to that frustration as he has had just three catches through nine games this season. Williams has been slow to pick up the offense, and it was only a matter of time before the Redskins would make a change.
The Redskins coaching staff openly admitted this past week that return man Brandon Banks would receive more opportunities at the receiver position. It would seem that the move to promote Austin, a 7th round pick from the most recent draft, illustrates that perhaps the coaching staff would also like to see someone else get more opportunities as well.
Austin had 10 catches for 146 yards and a TD in the preseason.
