Maryland Vs. N.C. State: Terps Try to Rebound at Home Against NC State

Even though they were eliminated from ACC contention, don't tell the Maryland Terrapins their season is over. The Terps host the N.C. State Wolfpack this afternoon at 3:30, their final home game this season, with hopes to finish the season strong and perhaps play in a higher profile bowl game. It will be Senior Day for 16 seniors, most notably linebacker Alex Wujciak, running back Da'Rel Scott, and wide receiver Adrian Cannon.

The Terps are coming off of a heart-breaking home loss to the Florida State Seminoles, a loss that ended their ACC title hopes. Although their season won't finish the way coach Friegen would have wanted, there are several bright spots this team can be proud of, the most obvious of which being the emergence of the red shirt freshman quaterback Danny O'Brien. The freshman has a 54.5% completion percentage, with 17 touchdowns and 6 interceptions through 11 games (8 starts). His play has to be encouraging for Maryland and their fans, as the development of a solid starting QB has been lacking at Maryland for several years.

Maryland hopes to rebound against an NC State team that comes into Byrd Stadium the 23rd ranked team in the nation, and a team that still has it's ACC hopes alive. With a win today, the Wolfpack will win the Atlantic Division and a date with the Virgina Tech Hokies in the ACC Championship game.

The Terps may not have much to play for anymore, but they would sure love to finish strong and spoil N.C. State's ACC title chances.
