Maryland Vs. Penn State: Terps Face Road Test In 2010 ACC/Big 10 Challenge

For the 12th straight year, the Maryland Terrapins will participate in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge. They have been very successful in those games, winning eight of 11 matchups against Big 10 schools. Tonight, they will hit the road to take on Penn State in State College.

On the surface, the Nittany Lions don't pose a huge threat. They haven't made the NCAA Tournament since 2001, and have a losing record in ACC/Big 10 Challenges. But they are still a big-conference team playing at home. This year, the Nittany Lions are 5-1, though they lost their only road game against Mississippi State on Friday.

Penn State's top player is guard Talor Battle, who is also one of the top guards in the Big 10. This season, Battle is averaging over 18 points a game, and he's been a big-time player for four years now. Adrian Bowie and Sean Mosley will have their hands full guarding him.

Of course, the Nittany Lions will have their own issues stopping Jordan Williams and company. Maryland is certainly the favorite, but it's still not a given.
