Redskins Vs. Cowboys: Rex Grossman Takes The Field As Washington Takes On Hated Rival

The Washington Redskins enter a new era at the quarterback position on Sunday, as they will take on the Dallas Cowboys with Rex Grossman starting at quarterback over Donovan McNabb. Grossman, of course, got the nod on Friday, when Mike Shanahan made the controversial decision to bench McNabb for the rest of the season.

Grossman faces a Dallas Cowboys defense that has given up plenty of points this season. However, the Cowboys have rebounded in a big way from a poor start. The Cowboys are 3-2 under new coach Jason Garrett after a 1-7 start with Wade Phillips, and their only losses are by three points to New Orleans and three points to Philadelphia, two Super Bowl contenders. Their offense has improved dramatically, and while they are trending in the right direction, the Redskins are certainly trending in the wrong direction.

The Redskins are looking to sweep the Cowboys this season, which may put a silver lining on another campaign gone wrong. The Redskins defeated the Cowboys 14-13 at FedEx Field in Week 1, winning thanks to a DeAngelo Hall fumble recovery at the end of the half and a holding penalty on Alex Barron on the game's final play. Both teams are in dramatically different places now, though.
