Capitals Vs. Senators: Caps Look To End Eight Game Skid In Ottowa

The Washington Capitals are looking to end their eight game losing streak on the road as they face the Ottawa Senators tonight.

The Caps are coming off of another disappointing loss to the Boston Bruins where they failed to battle back from an early 3-0 deficit. Despite rallying to get within one goal, they were unable to cash in on their final scoring opportunity, extending the losing streak to eight, the longest in Bruce Boudreau's tenure as coach.

Alex Ovechkin is in the middle of a rare slump in terms of scoring goals, with just two scores in his last 16 games. It's no coincidence that his scoring drought is happening at the same time as the team's struggles. His contributions are obviously key to the Caps getting a win and ending the streak.

Should the Caps be able to end the streak, they will be able to reclaim the lead in the Southeast division. In doing so, perhaps they could build some momentum for their upcoming big stage match up with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Winter Classic.

The Caps will be without forward Boyd Gordon (lower body injury) as well as the three players who are are injured reserve, DJ King, Tyler Sloan, and Jeff Schultz
