UNC-Greensboro Vs. Maryland: Terps May Change Starting Lineup For Game

UPDATE: The same starting lineup will start the game. So much for possible changes.

The Maryland Terrapins will take on UNC-Greensboro at Comcast Center tonight at 7:30 p.m. in a game they will surely win. That's not the real news, though. The real news is that Gary Williams isn't thrilled with his starters after they played so poorly in a loss to Temple on Sunday and may bench them, as we suggested earlier in the week.

It's not yet clear if any changes will be made, but what is widely speculated (via Jeff Barker) is that freshmen Terrell Stoglin and Pe'Shon Howard, who led a comeback against Temple in place of Adrian Bowie and Cliff Tucker, will start. Whether Williams makes up his mind to make the change or not, it does seem clear that the two freshmen have earned more playing time. It's also interesting because Williams has a reputation of giving his seniors a little more leeway than many other coaches.

This would be a good game to try the lineup switch, because UNC-Greensboro is awful. They are 0-7 on the season, one of a handful of winless teams in Division I basketball. Maryland isn't going to lose this question. The question is whether they will win it with their seniors or with their freshmen.
