Stephen Strasburg's third start in AAA was more like his second and first starts in AAA. The No. 1 pick tossed 6 1/3 innings of shutout ball, limiting the Rochester Red Wings to three hits and no runs during that time :
Strasburg struck out nine, including six of the last eight Red Wings he faced, to lead the Chiefs to a 5-1 win before a paid attendance crowd of 12,590 at Frontier Field. Rochester was limited to three hits -- all singles. Two of them were bouncers up the middle, and the other came on a dribbler to third. That particular hit by Trevor Plouffe in the third ended a Strasburg string of 10 2/3 consecutive hitless innings over three games in Syracuse.
Since joining the Chiefs, Strasburg is 3-0. He has not surrendered a run, been touched for four total hits and struck out 22 batters.
About the only thing he did wrong was not tipping his cap as he left the mound to a standing ovation. Bryce Harper approves of this.
