10:15 ET: Nationals Begin Ten Game Road Trip In San Francisco

San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Pablo Sandoval punctuated a four-run fifth inning with an RBI double, as the San Francisco Giants defeated the Washington Nationals, 4-2, in the opener of a three-game series at AT&T Park.

Freddy Sanchez ripped a two-run double and Edgar Renteria added a run-scoring single for the Giants, who snapped a five-game losing streak.

Todd Wellemeyer (3-4) gave up two runs on four hits in six-plus innings.

Josh Willingham and Ian Desmond each knocked in run in the seventh for Washington, which has dropped six straight on the road.

Livan Hernandez (4-3) suffered the loss after he allowed four runs on seven hits over five innings.
