Half Smokes Hypothetical: Who Graces The Cover Of DC Sports Video Games?

Half Smokes Hypothetical is a daily discussion that's not meant to be based in reality. Please don't take it too seriously.

So according to ESPN, Michael Jordan, yes that Michael Jordan, will grace the cover of NBA 2k11. It's a completely odd choice, and I don't think there's any way to defend it. Video games covers are supposed to be snapshots of recent history. We as fans should be able to look back to video game covers if we want to determine which athlete "owned" their sport that year. At the very least, we should be able to know that the athlete on the cover that year was dominant enough to deserve being there. Having Michael Jordan be on the cover defeats the whole purpose.

But it did get me thinking about which DC athletes have "owned" the city over the past few years. To explore that issue, here's today's hypothetical.

If you had to pick one DC athlete to grace the cover of a video game about DC sports in each of the last 10 years, who would it be? In other words, which DC athlete "owned" the city each year from 2000 to 2009?
