An interesting question has been put forth by blog Russian Machine Never Breaks - should Olaf Kolzig's jersey be retired by the Washington Capitals?
↵My personal take is that if the Capitals are going to retire the numbers of Dale Hunter and Yvon Labre, then room should be made in the rafters for Olie the Goalie. He holds every goaltending record of note in Capitals' history, and he served as a vital link between the miracle 1998 run to the Stanley Cup Finals and today's current "Rock the Red" bandwagonism. If not for players like Kolzig (or Peter Bondra), we might not even have an ice hockey team to enjoy here in the DMZ.
↵I leave it to the readers to decide.
