Half Smokes Hypothetical is a daily discussion where we throw out a D.C. sports-related question based on the news of the day. It's a hypothetical discussion, which is what makes it fun (we hope).
↵Many people believe that Nebraska's move to the Big Ten not only signals the death of the Big Xii, but is also the first step in a major conference realignment that would create a few "super conferences" that have upwards of 16 teams each.
↵No conference is safe from the potential re-shuffling, meaning that we may see some significant changes to the ACC in the coming years; which may even include the disbandment of the conference all together. So with that in mind:
↵If you could put 11 teams with Maryland in a power conference of your own invention, who would you choose? Take into account revenue streams, rivalries you may want to maintain, geography (sorry Hawaii), and the goal of a strong balance between basketball and football.
