Deangelo Hall Comments On Jason Campbell, World Doesn't End

One of the most dangerous things you can do as a professional athlete is to talk about a former teammate that is no longer with the team. Even if 99 percent of what you say is glowing, the media (not us, we're cool) will immediately jump on anything you say that sounds even remotely controversial.

So when I saw that Deangelo Hall made some comments about newly departed quarterback Jason Campbell, I feared the worst. There was no way that Deangelo, who has anything but a spotless past, would be able to avoid the P.R. mine field that he was attempting to ford. Much to my surprise, he tip-toed around it beautifully. His comments and reaction after the jump.

From the Washington Examiner.

"That's no knock to Jason; I love him to death. You never knew which one you would get. Sometimes [he'd] look great and you're like, well hell this kid can play; he'll eventually be a player. Then sometimes you were like, God damn; I know we didn't get the best protection but hell, you could have gotten that out of there."

Now that wasn't so bad, was it? This flies because he's right, there were times when Jason Campbell couldn't get the ball away fast enough. But I'm still waiting for somebody to chop off the first part of that comment and present the rest as the newest Redskins controversy, because you know its coming.
