Redskins' Top Draft Pick Trent Williams Fires Agent

New, 1 comment

Well this is interesting news. According to Comcast SportsNet's Kelli Johnson, Trent Williams, the number four pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, has decided to fire his agent.

Redskins top pick Trent Williams fired agent Eugene Parker; told me they "weren't a good fit". Has to wait 5 days to hire a new agent.

It's definitely odd timing, considering Williams has yet to sign a contract with the Redskins. Then again, only one of the top 18 picks has signed as of right now, according to Pro Football Talk, so it might not be that big of a deal. Indeed, as Ryan O'Halloran reports, Sean Taylor did the same thing in 2004 when he was drafted.

Pro Football Talk also speculates on who Williams might hire as his new agent:

The second half of the tip we received is that Williams' likely will sign with Ben Dogra of CAA.  Another source said that Kelli Masters could be part of the representation team.  "She is all over the OU program and somehow got Gerald McCoy to agree to let her co-represent him along with Dogra," said the source.  "To say she has been aggressively recruiting OU players would be an understatement."
