Today is a day about paying respects to our fathers, the men in our lives who have raised us and made us into the people we are today. I've been lucky enough to have a great father who has given me amazing support and love from the day I was born until now. Yet, I know there are plenty of people today who have not been fortunate enough to have such parental support, including some of the athletes we root for each day.
↵Eric Prisbell has a great piece in today's Post about John Wall and his relationship with his late father. Though John's father died when John Was eight and even though most of those eight years were spent behind bars, he still played an important role in John's development. But of course, whenever someone loses a father, especially at such a young age, many others have to step in and fill that void. Thankfully, Wall had the right people around him to steer him on the right path.
↵If your father is still around today, let him know how much you appreciate him today. If not, connect with the people who helped to serve as father figures for you and give them your thanks. And if you can, seek out someone who could use a father figure. You never know when you could be helping the development of a future No. 1 pick.
