Henrik Sedin Denies Alex Ovechkin Third Consecutive Hart Trophy

Alex Ovechkin will not be the first player to win three consecutive Hart Trophies since Wayne Gretzky, as he was bested by Vancouver Canucks center Henrik Sedin.

The results were extremely close, according to Mike Vogel:

Sedin wins narrowly, 894 to 834 points for Ovi. First-place voyes were 46-40 for the Canucks center. #NHLAwards

While Ovechkin failed to win the Hart Trophy, voted on by the media, he captured the honor of most outstanding player from the NHL Player's Association when he was awarded the Ted Lindsay Award.
