There are so many great things about this clip of Alex Ovechkin refusing to get off the stage at last night's NHL awards ceremony in Las Vegas. But my favorite part of the whole thing is this.

Think about what Ovechkin lingered around to talk about. Before he was cut off, all he said were the requisite platitudes that don't mean anything. But as soon as he stopped talking the first time, it was as if he realized "Crap, I really should thank some of my teammates, since otherwise the vengeful, annoying media will get on me for something stupid again." So he did, and wouldn't get off the stage until everyone who needed to be given a shoutout got one.
