The third local college player taken in the draft is Maryland’s own Greivis Vasquez. Vasquez was taken with the 28th pick by the Memphis Grizzlies. The Maryland product had expected to get drafted prior to the 32nd pick in this year’s draft and that prediction has turned out to be valid.
The 23-year-old native of Venezuela is listed at 6-foot-6 and 211 pounds and is expected to be a role player off the bench for the Grizzlies.
