The Capitals went to the OHL for their third pick in the 2010 NHL Draft, select Philipp Grubauer of the Windsor Spitfires, who acquired him in a trade last season. After joining Windsor, Grubauer went 13-1-1-1, allowing 2.37 goals per game and sporting a .907 save percentage.
As lynxtheone points out on Japers Rink, this makes for a bit of a logjam for future Washington netminders. He'll have to compete with Semyon Varlamov, Michal Neuvirth and Braden Holtby for opportunities on this squad.
