It seemed like a softball question, a chance for Nationals Scouting Director Kris Kline to reaffirm that the Nationals believe new draft pick Bryce Harper is going to be a superstar in this league. The question? Who does Harper compare to most?
↵Kline's answer? Larry Walker (cool), and ... J.D. Drew? Via Federal Baseball:

Personally, I was hoping that Harper would be better than a guy who had too much hype, got involved in a contract dispute after being drafted, didn't get the most out of his talent and generally earned way more money than he was worth. Even if Drew wasn't bad, he was definitely disappointing. But hey, nothing wrong with lowering expectations, I guess.
↵Besides, if Harper is really comparable to Drew, he'll be drafted by another team in next year's draft after refusing to sign in D.C. Thanks for getting our hopes up, Kris.
