All-Star Game Update: If This Lead Holds, Matt Capps Gets The W (Updated)

Matt Capps made his appearance in the MLB All-Star Game in the bottom of the 6th inning. He struck out the only batter he faced, David Ortiz, in last at bat of the inning.

At the time, the National League team was down 1-0. In the very next inning, the National League scored 3 runs. So what, right?

↵

Well, here's where i'm getting at. If that 3-1 lead holds up, our own Matt Capps of the Washington Nationals will get the win for the National League All-Star Team. He was the last pitcher throwing before the team took the lead. He's the pitcher of record.

How sweet is that? Good luck Capps! All of Natstown is rooting for you.

H/T to our own Chris Needham for bringing this to my attention.

(UPDATE: The lead held up! He got the win!)
