Bobcats Reportedly Closing In On Signing Shaun Livingston

Shaun Livingston was one of the pleasant surprises of the Wizards' dreadful 2009/10 season, returning from several knee surgeries to revive his career as a starting point guard late in the season. For a team that went through such turmoil, Livingston was the heart-warming story everyone needed. But then the Wizards drafted John Wall and traded for Kirk Hinrich, making Livingston expendable.

So Livingston looked elsewhere for employment and appears to have found his chance. He's closing in on a contract with the Charlotte Bobcats, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.

It's unclear what the terms would be, but it is clear that this is a fantastic opportunity for Livingston. The only other point guard currently on the roster is disappointing D.J. Augustin, and Bonnell reports that this signing would "likely preclude" the acquisition of another point guard via trade. Livingston is also a Larry Brown kind of player in that he "plays the right way" and focuses on distributing rather than scoring.

Congrats to Shaun, who has worked so hard to get back to this point in his career.
