Fresh off his heroic performance in South Africa, Landon Donovan returns to his first place club team the Los Angeles Galaxy and pays a visit to RFK Stadium tonight to take on D.C. United.
United is coming off a heartbreaking mid-week loss to the Seattle Sounders that has many fans giving up on the team's playoff chances. In that game, 17-year old midfielder Andy Najar provided the only offensive spark for United, and their defense held strong for 89 minutes before giving up a late goal to Seattle's Roger Levesque.
It will take much more attacking flare from the last place United to stand a chance against the first place Galaxy tonight. That flare may come from newly acquired midfielder Branko Boskovic, who made a late appearance on Thursday night, but could make his first start of the season today.
