Jamie Moreno Named To MLS All-Star Game, Andy Najar Snubbed

Last night, D.C. United coach Curt Onalfu said that 17-year old phenom Andy Najar is probably the best player on his team. Major League Soccer clearly disagrees and decided to choose a different D.C. United player to represent the league at the 2010 MLS All-Star Game, one who many didn't expect.

That player? Jamie Moreno. Via Craig Stouffer of the Washington Examiner:

Moreno was one of two picks made by MLS' commissioner. The other? Houston's Brian Ching. Both players are past their primes, but at least Ching plays for the hometown team (the Dynamo are hosting this year's game). The only explanation, therefore, is that this is a send-off for Moreno, who might be playing his final MLS season.
