Elijah Dukes' Major League career, which included a two-year Nationals tenure, was a fun time, if by fun you mean disturbing. After all, who doesn't like a mediocre outfielder that allegedly threatened to kill his wife, reportedly impregnated a 17-year old, threw a Gatorade bottle at her and required the Nats to hire an ex-police officer just to make sure he didn't get into any trouble. Doesn't that sound awesome!

↵Luckily, the Nationals released him earlier this year, and now, he's become the Newark Bears' problem. The Atlantic League independent team signed Dukes yesterday, according to a team press release. Good luck with him, guys!
↵Dukes joins a Newark roster that reportedly already includes Carl Everett and Daryle Ward, so I guess he'll fit right in.
