Will the latest Classic give us any insight to next season's Cup run? Well, Capitals fans may be interested to know this: The road teams from the past three Winter Classics (Pens, Wings, Flyers) have reached the Stanley Cup finals, all in losing efforts.

Is a Stanley Cup Finals loss next year considered a success for the Capitals. Let me be clear: absolutely, positively, 100% not. But maybe with a blessing from the Hockey Gods, the team can continue the trend of Winter Classic road teams up until the finals begin, and then write their own chapter in history.
