There are all sorts of stories out there about married couples bonding over sports and, in turn, actually getting married at sporting events. But how often does the team itself actually help out? Okay, maybe they often do, but how often are the actual players in on the act? That, my friends, is rarer.
Yet that's exactly what Chris Cooley and Clinton Portis did for one lucky couple after today's morning practice at Redskins Park. The happy couple is Don Carter and Elizabeth Ellis from Lexington, South Carolina, and it came about after Carter contacted the Redskins to see if there was any way the whole thing could be arranged. The Redskins, in turn, asked Cooley if he could help, and Cooley obliged.
