The Redskins' New Secret Weapon Play, Right? Right?

Training camp is a time for many things, but last and lastmost, it's a time to practice really wacky plays you'll never use in the regular season. So it only makes sense that the Redskins whipped out this formation during an intrasquad scrimmage.

Via TBD's Mike Jones:

What's this? [John] Beck lines up at WR, [Brandon] Banks at QB for a Wildcat play vs starting D.

And this, from 106.7 The Fan's Grant Paulsen:

We've seen the wild cat. Mark down the date. Brandon Banks in the gun and lethal recieving threat John Beck split out wide.

Unfortunately for the Redskins, the trick play failed even in practice. Back to the drawing board, Mr. Shanahan. Say, maybe you're interested in incorporating a fake field goal play into your arsenal...

UPDATE: Mike Shanahan said he had Beck and Banks run the play to prepare for the Bills' Wildcat set, not because the Redskins actually will run the play themselves. Well, that makes sense.
