Earl Boykins' 'Popularity' Gets Him Yet Another NBA Job

Earl Boykins is a 5'5'' "point" guard that dribbles a lot, isn't a great passer and is 34 years old. Last year, with the Wizards, his ninth different team in 11 season, he frustrated fans with his penchant for taking the team out of their offense. And yet, it appears Boykins will have an NBA job next season, as the Milwaukee Bucks are closing in on signing him to a one-year contract.

It's great news for Boykins, of course, but it is kind of baffling how he keeps earning NBA jobs. Erm, actually, it's not, because it's right here.

Boykins, 34, has played for nine NBA teams in 11 seasons. He was a popular player with the Bucks during the 2006-'07 season after being obtained in a trade with the Denver Nuggets.

Well, yeah, there is something amazing about a 5'5'' guy doing these things in the NBA, so in that sense, he's popular because fans wonder in amazement. That doesn't mean he's good, though. Oh well.

Congrats to Earl, and may you continue to dominate in NBA 2k10.
