Report: Redskins Acquire Quarterback John Beck In Trade With Ravens

The Redskins have reportedly acquired quarterback John Beck in a trade with the Ravens, just one day after coach Mike Shanahan said he will likely only keep two quarterbacks on the active roster.

From CSN's Brent Harris: Ravens trade QB John Beck to the Redskins for unknown compensation.

Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reports that the Ravens will receive cornerback Doug Dutch in the trade.

Beck was a high second-round pick of the Miami Dolphins back in 2007, but has largely been a disappointment in his NFL career. He started four games in 2007, but has not seen the field since. The Ravens were reportedly looking to trade one of their backup quarterbacks, and they ultimately decided to move Beck.

Beck will now compete with Rex Grossman, Dick Bartel and Colt Brennan for the backup quarterback job. If Shanahan's words ring true, only one will make the team.
