Tonight's recommended options (all times EDT):

Baseball

7:00 p.m. - Nationals at Phillies, MASN. One team is sending a Cy Young winner who has thrown a perfect game to the mound tonight. The other team's starting pitcher has an ERA of 14.33. I believe Charlie Manuel's pre-game speech went a little something like this.

7:00 p.m. - Rangers at Orioles, MASN 2. The Orioles look to take a decisive lead in this weekend's series. Winner gets to renounce all acknowledgments that Rafael Palmeiro ever played for them.

Football

8:00 p.m. - Eagles at Bengals, FOX. Please avoid pumping your fist every time you see Kevin Kolb throw an incompletion.

Racing

8:00 p.m. - Food City 250, ESPN. Brendan Gaughan, who played with Allen Iverson at Georgetown, starts 20th in tonight's race. Yes, you read that right. A former teammate of Allen Iverson's races in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Elsewhere on the tube

8:00 p.m. - "Without a Trace", ION. Hey, whatever happened to Skip Hicks?

10:00 p.m. - "King of the Hill", Cartoon Network. In this episode, Hank manages Strickland Propane's softball team. Hopefully he gives the team the same advice he gave his son.
