Mystics Clinch Top Seed In Eastern Conference After 90-81 Win Over Dream

Improbably, the Washington Mystics will be the number one seed in the Eastern Conference when the playoffs begin on Wednesday. Despite playing the entire season without Alana Beard, the Mystics locked up the top spot with a 90-81 win over the Atlanta Dream this afternoon.

Monique Currie led the way with 20 points for the Mystics (22-12), who built a 23-point lead before letting up a bit in the fourth quarter. The Mystics will now face the Dream (19-15) in the first round of the WNBA Playoffs. The schedule has not yet been released.
