Redskins Sign FB Carey Davis

According to multiple reports, the Redskins have signed Carey Davis in the wake of Mike Sellers getting injured during Saturday's game against the Ravens.

Jason La CanforaRich Campbell and Alex Marvez have all tweeted that the Redskins have signed the veteran fullback to provide an extra body after Sellers sprained his knee on Saturday. Carey spent the last three seasons in Pittsburgh and has also played with the Colts and Falcons in his career.

Smith isn't much of an offensive threat, he only has 31 carries in his career, but he was solid blocker for Willie Parker and Rashard Mendenhall, helping each runner record 1,000-yard seasons, though he only played in six games in 2009 as Mendenhall reached the 1,000-yard mark.
