When you picture the ideal stadium atmosphere for a sporting event, it's one where fans are on their feet all the time, yelling and screaming to distract the opponent. Right?
↵If you share that vision, you'll probably like the news that the Capitals will be selling standing-room only tickets to home games next year, according to a team press release.
↵↵↵Single-game tickets are expected to sell out very quickly. Thanks to that demand, the Capitals will also offer a limited number of standing-room-only tickets for games once all seats have been sold.
↵
Last year, the Capitals sold standing-room only tickets above sections 104-107 and 115-118 to their home playoff games for $100 a pop. Capitals' Senior Director of Media Relations Nate Ewell confirmed that the standing-room only tickets will be in the same spot this season, though it's not clear how much they will cost.
↵Regardless, as long as there's demand (and there will be), it's a good thing to find a way to get more people into the building and make it even louder than it was last year.
