UPDATE: Well nevermind - you can also watch it for free on WNBA.com.
↵This may be a very hyperbolic statement, but tonight's playoff game against the Atlanta Dream may be the most anticipated one in Washington Mystics franchise history. (Of course, any game after this in the playoffs probably is bigger, but I digress). For the first time, they will open the WNBA Playoffs at home, and as a number one seed, they are the de facto favorite to make the WNBA Finals.
↵And yet, they still won't be on local basic cable.
↵That's right: the Mystics can't be seen unless you get NBATV, which will air the game at 7 p.m. ESPN is showing baseball, then switching to the Seattle Storm-Los Angeles Sparks game later in the night. Comcast SportsNet, which is the broadcast partner for the Mystics, is airing taped programming. When I asked Brian Potter, CSN's senior director of communications, why the network wasn't airing tonight's game, he said their agreement with the Mystics only covers the regular season.
↵So if you have NBATV, you're in luck. If not, you might want to purchase it quickly while you can.
