VIDEO: Semyon Varlamov Is A Novice At Recording Promos

There's something funny about watching athletes read promos for commercials. Some are very good at it, using their voice to project the kind of excitement and energy necessary to, you know, promote the product. Others clearly are incapable of being enthusiastic and look completely out of their element.

And then, there's Semyon Varlamov. Like many Capitals players, Varlamov was tasked with recording a short 15-second promo for the second annual Capitals Convention on October 2. At face value, Varlamov is an odd choice because he hasn't mastered the English language. Ultimately, though, that's probably a good thing, because he produced some great unintentional intentional comedy in this video.

That's "and," Varly. It's a common English word. I know it's tough to pick up, but you can do it.
