Half Smokes Highlights: Finding The Humor In Fumbling For A Safety

All things considered, Rex Grossman wasn't half bad against the Jets last night. Going 8-16 for 111 yards against a stout Jets defense is nothing to be ashamed of for a backup quarterback.

By itself, it was a solid performance, but he was available to give his haters just enough fuel to keep the fire burning, when he fumbled a snap out of the end zone for a safety.

Not his brightest moment, to be sure, but it certainly wasn't his dimmest moment either -- at least he didn't put the Redskins in a 3rd & 57 or do this

In moments like this, we can either choose to be bitter, or remember that its only a pre-season game, and get a chuckle out of it. If the Benny Hillifier doesn't at least bring a smile to your face, you might just be a little too invested in this pre-season action.
