It’s only been one day at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic, and one big-name American has gone down.
James Blake’s tournament was a short one, as he fell yesterday in three sets to Sweedish qualifier Ryan Sweeting. Blake won the first set 6-3, but lost the final two sets 6-3 and 6-4. Sweeting will now face 14th-seeded Michael Llorda.
Fellow wild card David Nalbandian did not suffer the same fate as Blake, easily dispatching Rajeev Ram 6-4 6-0. Nalbandian will play fifth-seeded Stanislas Wawrinka next.
