Marko Mitchell And Marcus Mason Are Now Available

It's NFL cut day, which means that several obscure players will be cast back into the jaws of free agency, waiting for another NFL team to pick them up and then probably cut them again. The Redskins made their first roster cuts, along with every other NFL club. All in all, over 150 players were cut today.

Of those 150, two should stand out to Redskins fans: Marcus Mason and Marko Mitchell. Mason was cut by the Chargers, according to Christopher Smith, and Mitchell was axed by the Vikings, according to Tom Pelissero.

Besides both having their first and last names both start with "M," the two share one thing in common: they were cult favorites before being cut by the Redskins last year. There were many touting Mitchell as a potential No. 2 wide receiver option last year after a strong preseason, and there were others saying Mason could potentially be the kind of guy who could help replace Clinton Portis down the road. Instead, they were cut, and one year later, they've been cut again.

But hey, at least they're available now.
