This 'New Regime' Redskins Stuff Sounds Familiar

New, 1 comment

Look, we Redskins fans are optimistic about the Mike Shanahan/Bruce Allen era. We have no choice, seeing as we're Redskins fans. But every so often, we need a reminder that a lot of the bluster we've heard from Redskins Park recently is similar to stuff we've heard from the past.

Thankfully, the AP's Joseph White is here for that cold reminder:

The Washington Redskins switched from a laid-back coach to a general-in-charge - and it was just what the team needed.

↵

"You want somebody that's demanding and has the discipline and gets the respect of the players," one of the players said. "And I'm not so sure we had that here last year."

↵

Must be talking about 2010, right? Jim Zorn to Mike Shanahan?

↵

Nope, 2001. The player speaking was Jeff George, of all people, summing up the 180-degree switch from Norv Turner to Marty Schottenheimer.

Well played, sir. The fact that it was Jeff George who gave that quote twists the needle even further.
