29,000 Fans Appreciate The Redskins

As part of training camp today, the Redskins held their Fan Appreciation Day, a day that has included a scrimmage against the Ravens in years' past. The 'Skins decided to hold off on that scrimmage this year since they're all learning a new system, so one would assume that would mean less fans would show up, right?

Wrong!

According to the team over 29,000 fans were on hand to see cornerbacks Byron Westbrook and Ramzee Robinson each grab a pair of interceptions, and Fred Davis haul in an impressive total of three touchdown catches.

According to Paul Tenorio of the Washington Post, Coach Mike Shanahan was pretty impressed:

"I walked out of my office at 9:30 and I looked and I couldn't believe all the fans that were out there," Shanahan said. "I'm saying, 'Do these people understand that we have two more hours before practice starts?' So some very loyal fans and it was nice to get a chance to spend some time after practice with them."

Guess you can't get that in Denver, eh Coach?
