ESPN’s Ed Werder is reporting Albert Haynesworth will play Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys.
Haynesworth will see time on passing downs and will line up to rush the passer along the interior of the line.
The brooding nose tackle has once again been the big story this week after Chris Cooley revealed Haynesworth had been taking reps with the scout team all week.
Mike Shanahan clarified that the news meant nothing and did not mean Haynesworth wouldn’t play on Sunday. Now we can confirm that playing on the scout team didn’t entail Haynesworth would sit out the game.
It makes sense to put Haynesworth on the field as Dallas will be without two key starters on the offensive line. Left guard Kyle Kosier and right tackle Marc Colombo will both miss the game, meaning the Cowboys can’t be as confident they will win the battle at the line of scrimmage.
Haynesworth’s presence will only heighten Dallas’ concerns as he provides an inside presence that the Cowboys will struggle to stop without two of their best linemen on the field.
