It's been long established that the Nationals have little to play for this season. They've already clinched a better record than 2008 or 2009, so that's not a goal anymore. Really, all that's left is hoping for internal development and playing spoiler to playoff teams.
↵Today, they were able to do just that, beating the Braves in Atlanta to take two out of three from them and deal a big blow to their fading playoff hopes. It should satisfy them that they were able to play spoilers. In case it hasn't, this post from SB Nation's Braves blog Talking Chop should do the trick.
↵↵↵Write your own recap. I'm so sick of this team. I just wish, for once, someone would man up and do something.
↵At this point, I'd rather just lose the rest of our games than keep this crap up. Lose 2 out of 3 at home against the Nationals? Lose a 7 game lead in the NL East, and now (probably) trail by 3? I really tried to keep the faith. I really did. But I'm done. We have a 10-game road trip coming up, which is arguably our biggest trip in the last 5 years, and we're playing like this. In Bobby Cox's final season. That just blows my mind.

I point this out not to make fun of Talking Chop or say anything negative about it. It's a great, great blog. I'm just saying that the Nationals should take a little pride in spurring that kind of emotion out of an opposing team's fanbase.
